The doors are showing up as people are killed this week.
[ That at least clicks, and Break frowns. He's thoughtful for a moment, but he nods slowly, though Undyne may not actually like what Break has to say. After all, it does imply that he knew that more people would be dying this week. ]
...It could be because they're sacrifices to the demons. They're different, somehow, but I didn't find out what the specific reason was. Just that it was necessary.
[ Considering he was expecting a punch to the face or something more violent, he'll pretty gladly take this option instead... He sighs, but nods. ]
All the demons have to take a sacrifice of their own to finish this, apparently, but that's about all I know. I... didn't know anything about doors, though.

She'd punch him for not telling her any of this ahead of time, but she's pretty much treating Break like Sans now - aka fragile 1HP skeleton who she can't do violence to because they will probably die, so she just has to resort to hitting a wall and screaming!!

It had been his focus at first, certainly, but as soon as Gilbert had died, that had changed. At first, it was just abandoning the hope of returning at all, but with what he he been pulled into, it just became bringing back Gilbert first. From there, they could figure out the rest. It was no plan at all, but it was the best that they could do, or so he thought. ]
[HAHAHA SHE FUCKING WISHES because if that were the case she sure as hell would have started with that!! Instead she taps his right shoulder. Sorry to crush your hopes Break.]

Remember, this is only what I know from my world, and it may be quite different here. I'd recommend asking Gilbert if you have questions, since he can explain, and he can do so much more easily than this.

But I would guess that those doors could be used to call more of their kind, perhaps. There's a similar concept with the Abyss and with Chains, since there are areas in my world where the Chains are able to cross over more easily. It's not a door, but that's what I could at least compare it to. I do know that Katerina is doing this for the sake of revenge, and not exactly against a singular person. It would stand to reason that she would need more. But I also assume that these demons are the ones in control. If they're similar to Chains like I've been imagining, then they have their own goals here too.
