week 8 - monday at some point

[ So after Undyne leaves him to his manpain with a punch, it seems that Break at least considered why he got that punch. It's probably more than Undyne expects, but still, Break will be tracking her down on Monday. It's presumably after the motives, but Team Pride is too proud to murder, so it's totally fine... ]

Undyne?

[ Once Break actually has her attention, he doesn't actually pause awkwardly like he would normally tend to. It seems sincere. ]

I owe you an apology.

[ Break listens as she explains, and he ends up just nodding a bit absently. The first part makes complete sense, and that's what he had wanted to apologize for, but the second part also makes sense. It's weirdly, sure, but he gets it, and that's surprising. He's not sure if he completely agrees that a punch wipes the whole slate clean, but he at least understands the sentiment. ]

...I, well. I understand, at least.

[ He says, lamely, but this kind of takes the wind out of his sails for his grand apology. There's a moment where he's just genuinely not sure what to do, but he pauses, considers it, and then knowing Undyne, he thinks of something that might suffice. ]

Then in that case, would you like to spar again? It is... not quite a punch. But I feel like I should still apologize, and I could also stand to get rid of some of this lingering tension.

[Yeah, that definitely gets her to perk up. HOPEFULLY NEITHER OF THEM HAVE IMMUNITY THIS WEEK...if they do we'll just say Undyne either forgot about hers again or doesn't give a shit that Break's immune it works for her either way.]

That sounds great! I really need to fight someone after this week. You better not hold back just because you still feel guilty though!

[ This is at least a little more comfortable and familiar for him, so he laughs. Her enthusiasm is always... Something. It reminds him of someone, but he hasn't quite made the connection to who just yet. ]

Well, no. For anyone else, I might consider it, but for you, that would be a poor apology, wouldn't it?

[ He twirls his cane under his hand, then shrugs. ]

I can use the blade properly this time, if you'd like. I at least know I don't have to worry about injuring you at this point. [ because she wouldn't care so long as she doesn't die.... ]

[and then the motive went up and it turns out this is all just undyne's plan to murder break on the roof]

...Well, please hold back a little. As much as I would like to fight you completely seriously, I personally can't handle injuries as well as I used to.

[ He sighs, but it's not so much exasperated as it is thoughtful. Right here doesn't quite work, whatever mysterious location they're at, and he honestly doesn't completely trust his footing enough to fight on the roof. So. ]

You know, I haven't gone exploring just yet. How about at whatever new location has popped up this week? That'll be a quick way for me to learn the layout.

[ At least he likes to challenge himself? ]

Hmm...that's a good idea! I think I saw a lake when I was up on the roof, but I haven't gotten to check it out yet either.

[ But that part at least gets Break to scoff somewhat playfully. ]

Oh? How do you know I haven't done that already? I'd still rather not break a bone and end up having to justify a perfectly innocent decision come Saturday, since that's exactly my luck.

[ And yet, he nods, so he's not that concerned about potentially screwing himself over at a trial. ]

Ahh, but a battle by the lake? That's rather stereotypical, but it should be fun~.

Don't worry, I'd back up what happened for you! It might even get you off the hook, since it'd be pretty tough to murder someone with a broken leg. Maybe we should just break everyone's legs so they can't kill anyone anymore and we don't need to keep having these stupid trials! [She's joking??? Yeah, she's joking. Probably.]

What's so stereotypical about it? Plenty of important battles in human history have taken place by a lake! Almost as many as on top of a mountain during a full moon.

[ But Break sighs and waves his hand in her direction, though it also transitions into a more sweeping gesture that's meant to convey that Undyne should lead the way. That's a bit quicker than Break trying to find it, after all. ]

But, I should say that you have strange ideas about humanity. Neither of those are exactly common.
