week 8 - monday at some point
[ So after Undyne leaves him to his manpain with a punch, it seems that Break at least considered why he got that punch. It's probably more than Undyne expects, but still, Break will be tracking her down on Monday. It's presumably after the motives, but Team Pride is too proud to murder, so it's totally fine... ]
Undyne?
[ Once Break actually has her attention, he doesn't actually pause awkwardly like he would normally tend to. It seems sincere. ]
I owe you an apology.
Undyne?
[ Once Break actually has her attention, he doesn't actually pause awkwardly like he would normally tend to. It seems sincere. ]
I owe you an apology.
no subject
Huh? For what? Did you burn down the kitchen? [Clearly this is the biggest thing anyone should be sorry for HOW DARE SOMEONE INTRUDE ON HER JOB]
no subject
[ Break actually takes some small offense to this, since he thinks that Undyne is being a jerk. Though this is also dumb of him, since he's really expecting a lot of Undyne here to know what he's talking about... His serious expression twists into a scowl, but maybe a more huffy version of this is more sincere in itself. ]
I'm being serious here. I'm trying to apologize for what I said during the trial.
no subject
Wait, you're apologizing for that? [She scratches her cheek, sounding a little embarrassed.] I mean...thanks and all, but that was ages ago! Anyway, I hit you, so we're totally even. Just try not to be such a jerk next time you wanna accuse me of murder!
[undyne it was literally yesterday]
no subject
[ Break sounds almost distraught, because wow, Undyne? Do you know how hard this was for him?? He got punched and considered "oh, wait, you know, maybe I was an asshole," and then had to sit on it for like twenty-four hours before he mustered up the will to apologize. He stammers over his words briefly, but then ends up just putting his face in his hand. ]
...You were really okay with it after just punching me?
no subject
Well, sure? I mean I get why you acted that way and all. If it'd been Papyrus or Sans who'd been killed, I wouldn't have trusted anyone on the suspect list either. I was just mad that you were so convinced it was me thanks to some dumb stuff about the weapon that you weren't looking at anyone else, even though I have way more pride than to commit a cowardly murder like that! If the killer had gotten away thanks to you wasting a ton of time trying to figure out how it had to have been me, I would have given you a hell lot more than just a single punch!
[Then she shrugs.] But she didn't, so it all worked out. As far as I see it, there's nothing to forgive. Anyway, action speak louder than words! People can say sorry all they want and not mean it, but a punch wipes the whole slate clean! [apologies are for people too weak to be in team pride okay]
no subject
...I, well. I understand, at least.
[ He says, lamely, but this kind of takes the wind out of his sails for his grand apology. There's a moment where he's just genuinely not sure what to do, but he pauses, considers it, and then knowing Undyne, he thinks of something that might suffice. ]
Then in that case, would you like to spar again? It is... not quite a punch. But I feel like I should still apologize, and I could also stand to get rid of some of this lingering tension.
no subject
That sounds great! I really need to fight someone after this week. You better not hold back just because you still feel guilty though!
no subject
Well, no. For anyone else, I might consider it, but for you, that would be a poor apology, wouldn't it?
[ He twirls his cane under his hand, then shrugs. ]
I can use the blade properly this time, if you'd like. I at least know I don't have to worry about injuring you at this point. [ because she wouldn't care so long as she doesn't die.... ]
no subject
It's a deal! Then I won't hold anything back either!
[no he should probably tell her to hold back a little, otherwise he's gonna wind up as a pincushion]
no subject
...Well, please hold back a little. As much as I would like to fight you completely seriously, I personally can't handle injuries as well as I used to.
[ He's not as mcbeef as you, Undyne, please be kind. ]
no subject
But fine, if you're gonna be a party pooper on this. Where should we spar? Right here? On the roof? [WHY ARE THESE THE ONLY TWO OPTIONS...]
no subject
[ He sighs, but it's not so much exasperated as it is thoughtful. Right here doesn't quite work, whatever mysterious location they're at, and he honestly doesn't completely trust his footing enough to fight on the roof. So. ]
You know, I haven't gone exploring just yet. How about at whatever new location has popped up this week? That'll be a quick way for me to learn the layout.
[ At least he likes to challenge himself? ]
no subject
Hmm...that's a good idea! I think I saw a lake when I was up on the roof, but I haven't gotten to check it out yet either.
no subject
[ But that part at least gets Break to scoff somewhat playfully. ]
Oh? How do you know I haven't done that already? I'd still rather not break a bone and end up having to justify a perfectly innocent decision come Saturday, since that's exactly my luck.
[ And yet, he nods, so he's not that concerned about potentially screwing himself over at a trial. ]
Ahh, but a battle by the lake? That's rather stereotypical, but it should be fun~.
no subject
What's so stereotypical about it? Plenty of important battles in human history have taken place by a lake! Almost as many as on top of a mountain during a full moon.
no subject
[ Just. No. ]
[ But Break sighs and waves his hand in her direction, though it also transitions into a more sweeping gesture that's meant to convey that Undyne should lead the way. That's a bit quicker than Break trying to find it, after all. ]
But, I should say that you have strange ideas about humanity. Neither of those are exactly common.
